Smoothies are a delicious way to help rid our bodies of impurities that build up over time.
Detox is an important part of overall wellness. Smoothies are packed with lots of antioxidants that are consistently linked with health benefits.
Cleansing our bodies helps with better digestion and disease prevention.
Detox also helps with weight loss and promotes healthy skin and hair. In addition to the above, smoothies contain large amounts of water thereby help to rehydrate the Body.
We are going to look at smoothies that you can easily prepare from the comfort of your home:
1) BERRY SMOOTHIE
Berries are not only delicious, but they are filled with lots of antioxidants and minerals that are beneficial to your health. Berry smoothie aids the body in replenishing itself.
RECIPE
- Blueberry, blackberry, raspberry
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 1 cup purified water
- 1/8 cup rolled oats
Clean the berries
Blend all the ingredients to a smoothie consistency
Enjoy your smoothie
2) GREEN SMOOTHIE
From your vegetable garden, you can make yourself a mouth tasting smoothie. As the name derives, it’s packed with greens. Kale is a super food since it’s packed with vitamins, mineral and essential nutrients. It tastes great when combined with the right ingredients.
RECIPE
- ½ cup almond milk, Coconut milk or purified water
- 1 tabklespoon almond butter
- 1 banana
- 2 cup mixed greens i.e. Cucumber, spinach, celery, and kale
Mix all the greens together and blend.
Add the liquid and the banana and blend for 10 seconds
Serve and enjoy your smoothie
3.) AVOCADO DETOX SMOOTHIE
This smoothie provides your body with healthy nutrients such as folate, potassium and vitamins B, C and K. While hiding the avocado taste, this smoothie cleanses the cardiovascular system and relieves joint inflammation. It also provides relief to eyes and increases bone density.
RECIPE
- ½ cup apple juice
- 2 cups spinach or kale
- 1 apple unpeeled and chopped or cored
- ½ avocado chopped
Combine the apple juice, spinach apple and avocado in a blender and puree until smooth for about 1 Minute
Add water to reach desired consistency
4.) WATERMELON DETOX
Watermelon is low in calories, and therefore this smoothie helps hydrate the body. It fights free radicles from damaging the body. Vitamin A and B help to slow down the aging process. It also has lycopene which is an antioxidant.
RECIPE
- 2 cup of Watermelon cut into chunks
- 2 basil or mint leaves
- 1 cups water
- 1 tablespoon of honey
Blend the watermelon and water until smooth.
Add the honey and mint and blend for another 20seconds.
Serve
5.) ALOE VERA
This smoothie has both anti-inflammatory properties as well as high mineral content. It cleanses your body and radiates your skin. It also acts as a laxative. It encourages the growth of the good bacteria in the gut hence aids in digestion.
RECIPE
- 1 Aloe Vera leaf
- 1 cut pineapple chunks
- 2-3 drops stevia liquid
Take one leaf and skim off the spikes on both sides
Cut the top part of the skin off, and you can see the gel.
Cut the gel into chunks
Blend the chunks with the other ingredients until smooth
Drink immediately on an empty stomach
6.) ROSEMARY
Rosemary is a readily available herb that acts on the gall bladder. It encourages a good flow of bile which enhances the performance of bile production and liver function. It prevents toxic accumulation in the body by boosting essential nutrient absorption.
RECIPE
- 1 cup water
- 1 banana
- 1spring rosemary leaves finely chopped
- a little honey
- high-quality salt
Put all these ingredients in a blender and run for 30 -40 seconds
Serve fresh

7.) MANGO SMOOTHIE
This smoothie is refreshing during summer .all you need is a blender and some fruits.
RECIPE
- 2 mangoes
- 1 banana
- a cup of low-fat milk
- 1 tablespoon
- dry milk powder
- honey
- vanilla syrup
Slice your mango
Add 3 -4 slices of banana
Place all the fruits in a blender
Add three tablespoons of low-fat milk.
Add the vanilla and honey
Blend to a smooth consistency and serve
8.) LEMON.
Rich in ascorbic acid, lemons cleanses the body through aiding in digestion. It’s rich in vitamin c which enables the body to boost immunity through stimulation of formation of white blood cells
RECIPE
- 1 banana
- 2 lemons
- 2 raspberry
- Sugar
- Ice cubes
Wash the fruits, cut the banana into cubes
Blend strawberry, lemon, and banana together
Add sugar and blend for 10 seconds
Serve
