There is no warning when floods, blizzard, hurricanes and other natural disasters occur. You will need to stock your food supplies well if you’re to weather the storm and keep your family safe. Your body will need more energy during emergency disasters that it does now. That means eating a lot more during disasters while the food supply is limited. The kind of foods you need to stockpile should be rich in protein and high-energy.

Bars are usually highly portable and remain fresh for at least six months. Granola bars are an excellent source of carbohydrate and will be a great source of energy during emergencies. After all, there will be no electricity to power freezers and refrigerators during disasters and emergencies.
4. Trail mixes and nuts: Nuts and trail mixes are also high-energy foods. They are also small but quite nutritious. They are a convenient choice when you need to snack while working. When stockpiling nuts and trail mixes, look for vacuum containers that help keep them fresh for longer.
5. Canned tuna, turkey, chicken or salmon: These are a great choice that can last at least two years in the pantry.
