Yeast are single-celled micro-organisms. They are classified under the fungus kingdom. They are eukaryotic which means their cells have a nucleus and other organelles enclosed within the cell membrane. They are unicellular and can grow vastly up to 40 micrometers in size.

Yeast is literally present everywhere. It is present in the soil, in the air, in water, in food, even in the human body.

Yeast is naturally present in the human body. It normally causes no problem, but an overgrowth of it leads to many infections. In women the most common type of yeast Candida Albicans is present in the vagina. It is a pathogen and it observed in the gastrointestinal tract and in the mouth in most of the adults.

The main cause of the infection due to Candida Albicans is due to the overdose of antibiotics. There are many signs of these infections. It may cause:

  • Itchiness around the vagina.
  • Burning sensation.
  • Redness
  • Extreme uncomfortableness
  • Odorless white or light yellow discharge

There are many ways to prevent yeast infection

Watch your food

Do not feed the yeast. Some of the foods you eat have an impact on the yeast present in your body. Check your birth control

Normally, most birth controls contain estrogen. Estrogen is the hormone required for regulating the female reproductive system but an overdose of estrogen promotes high production of yeast. There are various birth control available in the market, it would be a wise choice to choose an estrogen less pill. It is better to consult your doctor before choosing a prescription of your own.

  2. Tea tree oil and Honey – Essential oils might be costly. But they are best to pamper yourself. Tea tree oil is antifungal, antibacterial in nature. Honey has a lot of benefits. it is a natural healing agent. Mix 3 drops of tea tree oil with 2 tablespoons of honey and apply it over the area.
  3. Garlic – Garlic has many medicinal properties. It is rich in anti-oxidants and nutrients. Its antifungal properties help in eliminating the fungus. Eating a raw garlic everyday can help you live a long healthy life. Make a paste of garlic using water and apply it on the infected area. Be careful while using garlic. Do not apply it on sensitive areas.
