One of the reasons why smoothies can help you get rid of the excess weight is that you can get all the nutrients you need in a single glass without the extra calories.

When you use the right ingredients, you will have a drink that has good balance of carbohydrates, vitamins, nutrients, healthy fats, and protein.

Below are some of the ingredients that can help with your weight loss program:

1.) AVOCADO
Avocado can make smoothies thicker and creamier. Not only that, the fruit also has a good amount of healthy fat that can keep you feeling full for a long time. It also contains a wide range of vitamins and minerals.

2.) BERRIES
You can add any type of berries to your smoothies for flavor without the guilt of consuming a lot of calories. Blueberry, raspberry, blackberry, and strawberry are also rich with fiber and antioxidants.

3.) CAYENNE PEPPER
While not a lot of people prefer spicy smoothies, adding cayenne pepper to your drink will improve your weight loss capabilities. It contains capsaicin that adds a kick to your drink. A study showed that adding cayenne pepper to breakfast will help in reduces one’s consumption of carbohydrates and fat later in the day.

4.) CINNAMON
Another spice that you can add to smoothies is cinnamon. It can help control blood sugar levels by bolstering the metabolism of glucose. As a result, there will be less amount of excess blood glucose. Abdominal fat is more sensitive to cinnamon compared with fats from other parts of the body.

5.) LEAFY GREENS
Leafy greens such as spinach, romaine lettuce, dandelion, and kale have phytonutrients, and at the low in calories. They also provide lots of fiber. It is important that you rotate the greens you use in your smoothies.

    In my moms country we do not call it SMOOTHIE but rather a SHAKE!!! I do not know what is the difference but it helps in a hot day to cool you down.

    Trying to lose weight? Normalize your body clock (and re-calibrate if it has to come to that) and your weight loss smoothies will be twice as effective. Just don’t skip meals because doing so will set your weight goals back
